Professional Experience
2010 - 2022
Distinguished Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, Journalism Discipline Leader
Since 2010, has been teaching at the Department of Journalism, School of Media and Communication, Shenzhen University, serving as Journalism Discipline Leader and Director of the Faculty Committee. Engaged in teaching and research in journalism practice, mass media, and international communication. Retired in June 2022.

Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Shenzhen Press Group and Editor-in-Chief of Shenzhen Daily
Responsible for the editorial management of Shenzhen Press Group's newspapers and the overall operation of Shenzhen Daily. Awarded the title of Senior Editor in 1999.
1991 - 2000
Assistant to Editor-in-Chief and Director of Economic News Department
Joined Shenzhen Special Zone Daily after graduating from Renmin University in 1991, serving as Director of Economic News Department and Assistant to Editor-in-Chief.
1984 - 1988
Editorial Board Member and Director of News and Correspondence Department
Joined Jiangsu Science and Technology News in the second half of 1984 as a reporter, officially beginning his journalism career. Later promoted to Editorial Board Member and Director of News and Correspondence Department.
Biography

Professor Xiaojin Gu is a Professor at the College of Media and Communication, Shenzhen University. He graduated from the College of Journalism at Renmin University of China with a Master of Laws degree in 1991. He worked at Shenzhen Special Zone Daily from 1992 to 2000, serving as director of multiple departments. He was a Visiting Scholar at City University of New York from February 2001 to January 2002. In April 2002, he became Editor-in-Chief of Shenzhen Daily and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Shenzhen Press Group. He joined Shenzhen University as a Professor in March 2010. He has published more than ten academic books and about 100 papers. His research interests include media transition, digital media, and international communication.
