Joined the faculty after completing her Master's degree in 1996, serving as Lecturer and later Associate Professor. Received Ph.D. in 2003.

Visiting Scholar at the Department of Communication, University at Albany, SUNY, from September 2001 to August 2002.
Biography

Professor Xie Jing is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Journalism, Fudan University, and Director of the Fudan University Media Literacy Research Center. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Journalism and a Ph.D. in Communication Studies, all from Fudan University. Her research interests include urban communication, community communication, organizational communication, media criticism, and new media technology theory. She has led over 20 research projects funded by the Ministry of Education and Shanghai municipal government, published 9 books and textbooks, and authored nearly 100 academic papers. She has received multiple awards including the National Journalism and Communication Outstanding Paper Award and the Shanghai Philosophy and Social Sciences Award. She has been selected for the Ministry of Education "New Century Excellent Talent" Program.
