Biography
Dr. Bei Fan is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at Meishi Film Academy, Chongqing University. He currently serves as the Dean of Meishi Film Academy, Director of the Chongqing Key Laboratory of Film and Television Digital Intelligence Technology and Art, and Dean of the Cultural and Creative Industry Research Institute at Chongqing University. He also holds multiple academic leadership positions at the academy and university. He is the Vice Chairman of the Chongqing Music and Dance Teaching Steering Committee and a member of the Drama, Film, and Television Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education. He is an Associate Editor of Digital Studies in Language and Literature (DSLL). His research focuses on world film history and theory, audiovisual media and culture, digital intelligence technology and art, and contemporary poetics. He has published over 40 academic papers in journals such as Film Art, Contemporary Cinema, and Journal of Beijing Film Academy. He is the author of The Art of the Singing and Dancing on Screen and From Trembling, and the translator of important works including The World Film History (2nd Edition) and The World Film History (5th Edition). He has led multiple research projects funded by the National Social Science Fund, provincial and ministerial departments, and the university. He is also engaged in literary creation and translation, having published nearly 200 poems, and has participated in the production, screenwriting, and direction of various films and TV dramas.
