Biography

Dr. Peter Fat Man Lau is a Lecturer at the Teaching and Learning Innovation Centre (TALIC) at The University of Hong Kong, with over a decade of teaching experience. He holds a Doctor of Education (EdD) from Nottingham Trent University and is a Fellow of Advance Higher Education (FHEA). He serves as the Coordinator of the Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education programme, providing training on teaching skills for Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs). He is an advocate for the Students as Partners (SaP) approach, collaborating with colleagues and students on teaching and learning projects in areas such as service-learning, team-based learning, and academic integrity. Since 2017, he has organised the Redesigning Student Learning Experience in Higher Education inter-institutional award scheme. In 2022, he launched the UGC-funded inter-institutional collaboration project “Co-Creating the Future of Education” as Principal Investigator. His research interests include pedagogical partnership, co-curricular assessment, ethics of teaching, GTA training, service-learning, team-based learning, and teamwork skills assessment and development. He serves as Treasurer of the HERDSA Hong Kong Branch and is a judge and reviewer for various international competitions and journals.
