Biography

Professor Carol K. K. Chan is an Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Education, The University of Hong Kong, and a Fellow of the International Society of the Learning Sciences (ISLS Fellow). She served as Co-Convenor of the Strategic Research Theme on the Science of Learning at HKU. Her research focuses on how people learn, with major interests in learning sciences and knowledge building, cognition and instruction, computer-supported collaborative learning (CSCL), cognitive processes of Chinese learners, and conceptual change. She has received Outstanding Teaching Awards from both the Faculty and the University, and has won multiple international Best Paper Awards. She has served as Executive Committee Member of the Asia-Pacific Society for Computers in Education (APSCE), Program Chair of ICCE, and Co-Chair of the Doctoral Consortium for CSCL.
