Professor Azmat Gani is a Professor in the Department of Economics and Finance at the College of Economics and Political Science, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. He is an internationally recognized scholar specializing in International Economic Development. He received his Bachelor of Commerce and Master of Commerce degrees in economics from Lincoln University (New Zealand) and his PhD from Massey University (New Zealand). His research focuses on developing economies, the Middle East and North Africa, and Asia-Pacific regions, covering areas such as international trade, economic development, finance, institutions, business environment, environmental sustainability, and tourism. He has published over 100 journal articles (87 research outputs in SQU Pure, including 82 articles, 4 reviews, and 1 comment), with 1,480 citations, h-index of 16, and is among the World's Top 2% Scientists, as recognized by Stanford University and Elsevier. He is also an expert member of the UNESCO Inclusive Policy Lab and ranks #1 among economists in Oman on RePEc/IDEAS.
